As the project progresses from development into delivery, we are seeking an experienced Land Access Program Manager to lead the planning, coordination and delivery of the project's land access program.
This is a pivotal role that will ensure timely access to land for early works, geotechnical investigations, construction and ongoing project activities, while building trusted relationships with landowners, contractors, government agencies and project stakeholders.
Based in Melbourne, with regular travel to regional Victoria, this is an opportunity to help deliver one of Australia's most significant energy infrastructure projects while working in a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager – Land and Property, the Land Access Program Manager will lead the development and implementation of land access strategies across the VNI West Project.
Working closely with VicGrid, landowners, contractors, environmental specialists, legal teams and internal project stakeholders, you will coordinate land and field access requirements while ensuring compliance with land access legislation, environmental obligations and cultural heritage requirements.
This role requires someone who combines strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills with practical project delivery experience and an understanding of rural land management and major infrastructure projects.
- Developing and implementing land access strategies to support project surveys, early works, construction and maintenance activities
- Coordinating land and field access requirements across multiple project workstreams
- Building and maintaining trusted relationships with landowners, contractors, VicGrid, government agencies and regional stakeholders
- Leading negotiations and coordinating land access agreements and permissions
- Ensuring land access activities comply with legislative, environmental and cultural heritage requirements
- Developing Site Access Plans and ensuring HSE requirements are embedded into field operations
- Maintaining accurate records of agreements, approvals and stakeholder engagement activities
- Identifying land access risks and implementing practical mitigation strategies
- Preparing reports and monitoring progress across land access activities
- Collaborating with engineering, environmental, legal and delivery teams to support successful project outcomes.
About you
- Experience in land access, property, stakeholder engagement or land acquisition within infrastructure, utilities or energy projects
- Demonstrated success negotiating landholder agreements, easements, leases or other property arrangements
- Strong understanding of Victorian land tenure systems, property legislation and land access requirements
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation and relationship management skills
- Experience working with rural and regional landowners and agricultural communities
- Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong organisational skills with experience managing competing priorities
- Qualifications in Property, Agriculture or a related discipline (preferred)
- Current Driver Licence and willingness to travel throughout regional Victoria.
