About the Role
This 6-month contract is suited to a skilled Java Developer with strong cloud and DevOps experience. You’ll be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying microservices and APIs within an AWS environment, while contributing to modern CI/CD practices and high-quality engineering standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing Java-based applications and services across production and pre-release environments
- Building scalable microservices and RESTful APIs using Spring Boot and AWS
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and DevOps practices
- Collaborating with cross-functional and global Agile teams
- Ensuring high code quality through testing, reviews, and best practices
- Leveraging AI tools (including prompt engineering) to enhance development workflows
About You
- Strong Java (8+) development experience, ideally with Spring Boot
- Hands-on experience with AWS, including serverless technologies (e.g. Lambda)
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and REST API development
- Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS) and CI/CD tools (e.g. Jenkins, Git, Gradle)
- Exposure to AI technologies, including prompt engineering and tools like Claude or Cursor IDE
- A strong DevOps mindset and experience working in Agile teams
Nice to have:
- Financial services or banking experience
- Exposure to JavaScript frameworks (React or Node.js)
- Leadership or mentoring experience
