The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join the client as a Domain Architect within Infrastructure and Telecommunications. You will play a key role in shaping both IT and OT architecture, enabling innovation and resilience across a critical sector. Working with a collaborative and forward-looking Digital & Technology team, you will influence strategy, drive architectural alignment, and deliver solutions that balance scalability, security, and cost efficiency.


Must be able to attend the Melbourne CBD office 3 days per week. Unfortunately sponsorship is not available for this position.

The Role

As a Domain Architect – Infrastructure & Telecommunications you will be responsible for ensuring alignment of technology strategy with business needs across IT and OT domains.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the design and maintenance of enterprise architecture for infrastructure, telecommunications, and OT networking.
  • Guiding solution architects and SMEs across converged IT/OT networks and platforms, ensuring consistent and sustainable outcomes.
  • Chairing domain working groups and maintaining catalogues of architectural decisions for transparency and reuse.
  • Supporting business case development through accurate scope, cost, and effort estimation.
  • Identifying opportunities for optimisation and innovation, balancing operational resilience with efficiency.
  • Ensuring architectural compliance with security, regulatory, and risk requirements.

About You

In order to be a successful applicant you will bring deep domain knowledge and a track record in both IT and OT environments.

You will also have:

  • Extensive experience in IT architecture, with strong exposure to infrastructure, networking, cloud, and telecommunications.
  • Proven expertise in OT networking, protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, IEC 61850), and telecommunications technologies (e.g., private LTE, microwave, radio).
  • Experience with virtualisation (VMware), hybrid cloud (Azure), and SCADA/ICS systems.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Proficiency in architecture modelling tools (e.g., LeanIX) and ability to integrate OT and IT perspectives.
  • Relevant certifications (Open Group, CCNA/CCNP, Azure Solutions Architect) highly desirable.
