IT Security Analyst
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established organisation where you'll play a key role supporting information security, technology risk, data governance, and AI governance initiatives. Working closely with the Head of Technology & AI, you'll gain exposure across cybersecurity operations, governance, compliance, audit, third-party risk, Microsoft 365 security, and emerging AI governance. This role would suit an early career cybersecurity professional or recent graduate looking to build broad experience in a supportive environment while contributing to a mature security and governance capability.
The Role
You'll be responsible for supporting cybersecurity, governance, and technology risk activities across the business by:
- Assisting with IT governance, risk assessments, control reviews, and compliance activities.
- Supporting cybersecurity reporting, remediation tracking, incident documentation, and security awareness initiatives.
- Conducting user access reviews and assisting with identity and access management activities.
- Supporting third-party security assessments and ongoing vendor assurance activities.
- Assisting with data governance, Microsoft 365 security, and information protection initiatives.
- Preparing documentation, reports, registers, and evidence for audits, management, and governance committees.
About You
You'll bring a strong foundation in cybersecurity together with excellent analytical and communication skills. To be successful you'll have:
- Up to two years' experience in cybersecurity, IT governance, technology risk, audit, or a related field, or be a recent graduate with strong technical capability.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles including IAM, vulnerability management, incident management, and security awareness.
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 security technologies including Entra ID, Defender, Purview, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
- Familiarity with security frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST CSF, ASD Essential Eight, or CPS 234.
- Strong documentation, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Security, Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar. Security+ or other industry certifications are highly regarded.
