IRAP Assessor - NV1

Information & Communication Technology

About the Company

This is a rare chance to shape security outcomes on a long-running, high-impact national program, providing independent assurance that designs and delivery approaches can meet Protected accreditation expectations, while preventing late-stage rework and control failures.

About the Role

In this contract role, you will embed in a lean tiger team under Technology Enablement, aligned to an Enterprise Security Uplift Program, to review designs early and drive evidence readiness for accreditation.

  • Deliver IRAP-style design review findings and remediation recommendations per workstream (10 to 12 weeks)
  • Produce an evidence readiness checklist aligned to the ATO plan: gaps, owners, and timelines
  • Conduct targeted reviews during options and costed design phases to reduce late rework
  • Validate Protected boundary controls and approaches for systems spanning boundaries
  • Advise on control duplication and separation patterns (e.g., Protected platform instance separation)
  • Support governance-ready uplift planning inputs (design assurance and evidence direction)

About You

You are an IRAP assessor who can operate pragmatically, spot gaps early, and translate security requirements into delivery-ready actions that stand up to Protected accreditation scrutiny.

  • Active NV1 security clearance (mandatory- this role cannot sponsor those wishing to obtain NV1)
  • Demonstrated IRAP delivery experience in Protected environments
  • Strong understanding of boundary controls and Protected data boundary concepts
  • Confident writing actionable findings, prioritised remediation, and evidence requirements
  • Comfortable working in lean teams with tight milestones and multiple workstreams
  • Practical, outcomes-focused approach that reduces accreditation risk and late failures

The Benefits

  • Initial 6 month contract, with scope to extend to 18+ months
  • Work remotely from ACT, QLD, NSW or VIC
  • Market rates on offer
