We are working with a state government client who is seeking an Asset Management Specialist. The focus of the business transformation initiatives includes asset management, information governance & digital enablement, financial management, portfolio management, and contract management.
About the Role
This role is focussed on providing expert advice and undertaking complex duties related to asset management business-as-usual functions and business transformation initiatives.
- provide guidance and technical advice on sound asset management practices.
- implement asset management practices and improvement activities to ensure infrastructure assets are managed in an integrated and effective manner.
- provide support to, or lead, the resolution of complex issues related to infrastructure asset management.
- contribute to the development, and implementation of asset management strategies for the asset portfolio in line with ISO55000 standards for the efficient and effective delivery of asset management systems and asset information management to achieve the required business outcomes in service delivery.
- promotion of a culture that encourages best practice by integrating asset management into normal business practices.
- engage and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders on the Division’s built infrastructure asset management practices, internal staff, other contractors, other Divisions of the Department (e.g. corporate procurement) and other Government Agencies.
Business Transformation initiatives:
- in consultation with key stakeholders, develop asset management artefacts for infrastructure management related business transformation initiatives, including ptions analysis, prioritisation and sequencing of project tasks, project resourcing requirements, project cost estimates, project schedules, etc.
- undertake and complete identified work packages for infrastructure management related business transformation initiatives.
- act as a critical link with the stakeholders and contribute to the implementation of asset management practices and improvement activities to ensure the departments assets are managed in an integrated and effective manner.
- develop and implement Asset Custodianship model across all asset life cycle phases.
- contribute to Asset Management Maturity Uplift initiatives.
- Provide strategic advice to the Division’s senior executives on matters related to infrastructure asset management.
- Engage and collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
About you
Have extensive infrastructure asset management knowledge and experience, such as:
- Contemporary strategic asset management policies, frameworks, strategies, plans and systems.
- Reviewing and/or defining Asset Custodianship Models (i.e. asset management roles and responsibilities).
- Asset Management Planning, such as development and Asset Management Plans and undertaking underlaying capital renewal and maintenance planning.
- Defining asset data standards and hierarchies.
- Experience investigating, researching and analysing a range of data, process and systems issues across the Asset Lifecycle.
- Desirable – Have experience with asset management for buildings and associated infrastructure.
- Desirable – Have experience leading, or being involved in, business transformation programs/projects and/or continuous improvement initiatives in complex organisational environments with low levels of maturity.
- Whilst not mandatory, a relevant qualification would be well regarded such as degree related Asset Management (such as Engineering, GIS, Business, Finance, etc) or other technical qualifications related to Asset Management (such as from Asset Management Council, IPWEA, etc).
