About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Information Security professional to join Iberdrola and the VNI West Project team.

Based in the Melbourne CBD and reporting to the Readiness Lead, this role will act as the primary point of contact for cyber security governance and regulatory compliance across Iberdrola Australia. The position will focus on ensuring alignment with Australian critical infrastructure legislation and global cyber security obligations through structured risk management, audit, policy development, and security oversight activities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day information security governance and compliance activities

  • Develop, implement and uplift ICT security policies, standards, procedures and controls

  • Conduct security risk assessments and provide cyber security advisory services

  • Partner with the Chief Risk Officer and business stakeholders to manage cyber risk, mitigation and remediation strategies

  • Monitor and analyse external threat intelligence to inform risk posture

  • Lead cyber security initiatives focused on data protection, fraud prevention and control effectiveness

  • Act as a key contact for significant cyber security incidents, coordinating response activities with incident response, crisis management and external agencies

  • Perform root cause analysis and drive continuous improvement across security processes

  • Analyse security metrics and reporting to enhance cyber maturity and governance effectiveness


About You

You are a seasoned Information Security or Cyber Governance professional with experience operating in regulated or critical environments.

You will bring:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Cyber Security, Risk Management or related discipline

  • Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM or CCSP (highly regarded)

  • Baseline Federal Security Clearance (or ability to obtain)

  • Strong experience with GRC platforms (ideally RSA Archer)

  • Experience working with SIEM, IDS and MDR solutions

  • Knowledge of recognised cyber security frameworks including AESCSF, NIST, ISO 27001 and/or IEC 62443

  • Experience operating in AWS and/or Azure cloud environments

  • Strong understanding of cyber security architecture and control frameworks

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, reporting and executive communication skills

  • Energy sector experience advantageous but not essential
