About The Role:
Working closely with senior leaders the In-House Counsel role is a stand-alone legal role. It will provide commercial and legal advice on a range of legal matters in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment. Specific work includes
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client, supplier, and service agreements.
- Monitor regulatory developments, and deliver clear and concise advice to ensure the organisation meets its regulatory requirements
- Provide general legal advice on key business areas such as intellectual property, data protection, privacy, employment and management of litigation .
About You:
- Qualified legal practitioner in Australia with 5-8 years experience within an inhouse team of a financial services organisation.
- Proven ability to deliver practical, commercially focused legal advice and independently manage legal matters.
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations, particularly ASIC and APRA frameworks
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to manage internal client relationships and external service providers, including the ability to convey legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent writing, and time management skills, with high attention to detail and strong commercial acumen.
- Self-motivated and able to work both as part of a team and autonomously
- Willingness to take on diverse legal challenges
