HR Project Specialist – Integration

Human Resources & Recruitment

2–3 Month Contract | $94.88 per hour + super | Brisbane or Gympie

An opportunity has become available for an experienced HR professional to join a well-established Australian organisation for a short-term integration project following a business acquisition.

Working closely with the People & Culture team, you will play a hands-on role in understanding and documenting the acquired business's current people processes, identifying differences and opportunities, and developing practical recommendations to support integration into the broader organisation.

This is a great contract for an experienced HR practitioner who enjoys project work, can quickly make sense of an existing HR environment and is comfortable moving between analysis, recommendations and hands-on implementation.

The role

A key focus will be reviewing and mapping current Hire-to-Retire processes and policies across the acquired business and comparing these against the broader organisation's existing P&C framework.

You will help determine what needs to change, where priorities sit and the most practical sequence and approach for integration.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Mapping current-state HR processes and policies across the employee lifecycle
  • Reviewing and comparing existing processes against the broader P&C framework
  • Identifying gaps, inconsistencies and opportunities for alignment
  • Developing practical recommendations around integration priorities, sequencing and approach
  • Supporting the completion of outstanding people-related due diligence activities
  • Assisting with the rollout of updated policies, processes and training materials
  • Working collaboratively with P&C and operational stakeholders to support a practical and considered transition

About you

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can quickly get across a business, ask the right questions and turn information into clear, practical recommendations.

You may come from an HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, HR Project or P&C Project background and will ideally bring:

  • Strong generalist HR knowledge across the employee lifecycle
  • Experience with HR projects, process improvement, integration or transformation
  • Strong process mapping, documentation and analytical capability
  • The ability to identify gaps and translate findings into practical recommendations
  • Confidence working autonomously and managing competing priorities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A pragmatic, hands-on approach and willingness to support implementation as required

Previous experience supporting an acquisition or business integration would be highly regarded but is not essential.

The opportunity
This is an immediate 2–3 month contract, paying $94.88 per hour + super.

The role can be based from Brisbane or Gympie, however regular travel to the Gympie site will be required for Brisbane-based candidates.

If you're an experienced HR professional available for your next contract and enjoy getting into the detail, improving how things work and helping businesses navigate change, we'd love to hear from you.
