About the Company

Listed on the ASX in 1983, Astron Corporation has more than thirty years’ experience in mineral sands processing, technology and downstream product development, as well as the marketing and sale of zircon and titania (titanium dioxide) products.

Astron’s prime focus is the development of the large, long-life Donald Rare Earth & Mineral Sands project in the Murray Basin, Victoria. The Donald project represents a major new source of global supply in mineral sands and is one of the largest known zircon and titanium resources in the world. Life of mine for stage one is approximately 40 years.

Astron are now recruiting for the critical role of HR Manager.


About the Role

Based in Melbourne CBD, with some travel to site, this critical role reports directly to the CEO and will be responsible for all people systems and processes for the owner’s team during the initial project phase and then for developing the operations team.

The role will be broad and responsible for a wide variety of HR activities including but not limited to:

· Learning and development

· Recruitment and Succession planning

· Performance, remuneration and benefits

· Diversity

· Workplace law

· Employee engagement and culture


About You

In order to be successful in this role, you will have significant proven experience in a Senior level HR position in mining, construction or other relevant, fast paced industry, ideally within an ASX-listed company.

· Exposure to and understanding of the mining or resources industry

· Excellent communications and interpersonal skills

· Experience in data management knowledge

· HR Systems knowledge

· High level of confidentiality

· Exceptional levels of initiative, organisational skills and efficiency

· High attention to detail

· Knowledge of IR legislation, EBAs and Modern Awards

· Ability to travel intrastate and interstate when required

· Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing and interfacing effectively with cross-functional internal groups of all levels and competencies
