HR Business Partner - Build something. Don't just maintain it.

Human Resources & Recruitment

Love operational HR? Ready to help build something, not just maintain it?

Some HR roles are about keeping the wheels turning.

This isn't one of them.

We're partnering with a large, well-established Australian manufacturing organisation that's investing in its People & Culture function and looking for an experienced HR professional who enjoys partnering with leaders, solving complex people challenges and helping shape the future of HR.

Supporting a workforce of more than 1,100 employees across a diverse operational environment, you'll join a collaborative People & Culture team that is modernising its HR practices, implementing a new HRIS and building the processes, systems and capability that will support the business well into the future.

If you're someone who enjoys being visible in the business, building trusted relationships and making a genuine impact, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you'll partner closely with operational leaders, providing practical HR advice and coaching across a broad range of people matters.

You'll be involved in:

  • Employee and industrial relations
  • Performance management and workplace investigations
  • Coaching leaders through difficult conversations
  • Workforce planning and organisational change
  • Recruitment and onboarding support
  • Improving HR processes, documentation and consistency
  • Supporting the implementation of a new HRIS
  • Building trusted relationships across a diverse operational workforce

This is a hands-on HR Business Partner role where you'll spend as much time building relationships across the business as you do behind your desk.

Could this be you?

We're looking for someone who brings a combination of strong HR capability, commercial thinking and a genuine passion for partnering with leaders.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • Around five years' experience in a HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or Generalist HR role
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline
  • Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation and employee relations
  • Experience coaching leaders through performance, conduct and workplace matters
  • The ability to build credibility and influence with operational stakeholders
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to work autonomously
  • A positive attitude, resilience and a genuine desire to make a difference

Experience supporting manufacturing, logistics, construction, transport, food production or other operational workforces will be highly regarded, however we're equally interested in individuals with the right attitude, values and willingness to learn.

Applicants must have unrestricted Australian working rights.

Working Arrangements

This is a full-time onsite position based at Cannon Hill.

Because success in this role comes from building relationships and being visible across the operation, this role is not suited to hybrid working arrangements. That said, the business understands that life happens and offers flexibility when needed.

You'll also have the opportunity to choose the shift that best suits your lifestyle:

  • 7:00am - 3:00pm, or
  • 12:00pm - 8:00pm

Free onsite parking is provided.

Why apply?

This is an opportunity to join a values-led organisation where you'll have the chance to:

  • Help build a contemporary People & Culture function
  • Partner with experienced operational leaders across a large workforce
  • Be part of a collaborative and supportive HR team
  • Contribute to the rollout of a new HRIS and improved HR processes
  • Purchase premium products through generous employee discounts
  • Build your career in a stable Australian business with genuine long-term opportunities

Pre-employment Requirements

The successful applicant will be required to complete a pre-employment medical, including Q Fever screening/vaccination (industry requirement), along with standard pre-employment checks.

If you're looking for a role where you can build strong relationships, influence leaders and help shape the future of a growing People & Culture function, we'd love to hear from you.
