HR Advisor | More Than Just BAU HR!

Stapylton - just 8 minsutes drive from Beenleigh | Permanent Full-Time | $90,000 + Superannuation

An opportunity to do more than manage the day-to-day HR workload. Join a growing national business where your ideas, initiative and practical HR experience will genuinely make a difference.

Davidson is partnering with an established Australian business operating in the medical equipment and technical services sector to recruit an HR Advisor.

With approximately 130 employees nationally, our client is entering an exciting period of growth, investment and organisational development. As the business continues to expand, there is a strong focus on improving people practices, investing in technology and building a more consistent employee experience.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a capable HR generalist who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work and wants to contribute to something beyond business-as-usual HR.

The Opportunity
Reporting to an experienced and supportive People & Culture Manager, you'll join a small HR team where your contribution will be valued and your ideas welcomed.

This is a broad, hands-on generalist role supporting a diverse national workforce, including field service technicians, operational teams, sales professionals and corporate employees.

You'll be a key point of contact for day-to-day HR matters, providing practical advice to managers and employees while helping establish more consistent people practices across the organisation.

Importantly, this isn't simply a business-as-usual HR role. There are several exciting projects planned over the next 12 months, including implementing a new HRIS, developing a performance management framework and improving recruitment, onboarding, probation and HR policies.

You'll have the opportunity to contribute your ideas, challenge existing ways of working and help introduce processes that make life easier for managers and employees.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical HR advice on employee relations, performance, conduct, employment conditions and workplace matters.
  • Supporting managers with the interpretation and application of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and workplace policies.
  • Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, probation, employee changes and offboarding activities.
  • Supporting the implementation of a new HRIS and improvements to HR systems, documentation and reporting.
  • Contributing to performance management, policy development and broader People & Culture projects.
  • Building strong working relationships with managers and employees across the organisation's national operations.

About You
We're looking for a capable HR generalist who has developed good technical foundations and is ready to take ownership of a varied advisory role.

You'll need to be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and providing practical advice to operational managers. Just as importantly, you'll know when to ask questions, seek guidance or escalate a more complex matter.

You don't need to have done everything, but you do need to bring sound HR knowledge, good judgement and a genuine willingness to learn.

Ideally, you'll bring:

  • Experience in an Australian HR generalist, HR Advisor or similar position.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of the Fair Work Act, National Employment Standards and Australian Modern Awards.
  • Experience advising or supporting managers with employee relations, performance and workplace matters.
  • Strong employee lifecycle experience, including recruitment, onboarding, employment documentation and HR administration.
  • Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence using HR systems and technology.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to respectfully challenge existing practices when needed.
  • The ability to build trusted relationships with both operational and corporate stakeholders.

Experience supporting technical, field-based or operational workforces would be particularly valuable, as would exposure to HR projects, process improvement or HRIS implementations.

Above all, you'll be someone who enjoys getting involved, takes pride in the quality of their work and is genuinely interested in helping a business improve.

Why Consider This Opportunity?
There is a lot to like about this position, particularly for someone who wants to continue developing their HR career while making a visible contribution.

You'll enjoy:

  • $90,000 + superannuation in a permanent, full-time position.
  • Working closely with an experienced People & Culture Manager who values autonomy, shares knowledge and is genuinely invested in developing their team.
  • A broad HR role offering variety, responsibility and exposure to meaningful business projects.
  • Flexible working arrangements, including some work-from-home flexibility following an initial settling-in period.
  • A modern, newly fitted-out office in Stapylton, with free onsite parking.
  • The opportunity to join a growing national business where new ideas and practical improvements are welcomed.

The position is based in Stapylton, conveniently located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.

Candidates considering relocating from interstate are welcome to apply, provided you have relevant Australian HR experience and appropriate working rights. Please note that employer sponsorship and financial relocation assistance is not available for this position.
