About the Company

We are partnering with a federal government client seeking an experienced Employee Services Advisor to join their dynamic People & Culture team. This role provides high-quality, operational HR advice and support across a broad range of people matters, contributing to positive employee experiences and business outcomes.


About the Role

  • Provide proactive HR consultancy and advisory services to employees and managers across the organisation.
  • Deliver consistent, high-quality advice across the employee lifecycle, including probation, fitness for duty, performance management, and development.
  • Manage and respond to queries via the HR ticketing system, ensuring accurate record-keeping and appropriate escalation.
  • Prepare documentation including letters, policy reviews, and initial advice recommendations.
  • Conduct job evaluations using JEMS methodologies and provide guidance on role classification across business units.
  • Support the development and review of policies, procedures, and resources related to job evaluation and broader HR practices.
  • Build strong relationships with managers and internal stakeholders to deliver timely, customer-focused HR support.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of self-service platforms and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Handle sensitive employee information in line with privacy and confidentiality standards.
  • Participate in HR projects and adapt to changing organisational needs.


About You

  • Demonstrated experience providing practical HR advice across the employee lifecycle in a complex, diverse organisation.
  • Proven ability to coach and support managers in fostering a positive performance culture.
  • Experience conducting job evaluations using JEMS methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge (or ability to acquire) of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and HR policies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate ambiguity, and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and sound judgement in risk management and escalation.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and fostering a respectful, inclusive workplace.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, Business, Organisational Psychology or related field.
  • Certification or training in Mercer Job Evaluation, workplace investigations, or workers compensation (Comcare).


The Benefits:

  • $100,000 to $109,000 per annum + 14% super
  • Hybrid working – 3 days WFH
  • North Brisbane Location (near DFO)
