Reporting to the Director City Delivery, you will lead the planning, feasibility and delivery of major transformational projects, ensuring strong governance, effective project management and best-practice outcomes for Council and the community. The Head Major Project Delivery will lead the full project lifecycle on any new major projects and delivery of Council’s two largest ever projects. You will oversee key initiatives, including the Cobblebank Community Services Building and the New Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Fraser Rise. You will lead the Major Projects PMO and work effectively and in unison with the Enterprise Project Management Office connected to the Chief Financial Officer.
You will oversee projects with a safety focus, within budget time and scope, and legal and commercial requirements. As a senior leader, you will guide master planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, and foster strong partnerships while supporting a high-performing team.
To be considered for this role, you will have extensive experience delivering and managing major projects, preferably in the public sector, with a proven track record across feasibility, pre-planning, design, and project delivery. You will lead a multidisciplinary team with strategic clarity and foster collaboration through clear, influential communication. Your expertise in stakeholder management and your ability to deliver large-scale community engagement initiatives will be instrumental in delivering strategic outcomes.
Tertiary qualifications in project management, urban design, town planning, recreational planning, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
