  • Shape the future of technology at GMHBA – Geelong head office

Technology leaders rarely get the opportunity to inherit a well-established function while simultaneously shaping its future. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this newly evolved leadership role presents the opportunity to lead GMHBA's enterprise infrastructure and service management capability while playing a key role in the organisation's broader technology transformation.

As a member of the Technology & Transformation Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for ensuring operational excellence today while building the modern, resilient and customer-focused technology services of tomorrow.

GMHBA is one of Australia's leading not-for-profit private health insurers, proudly supporting the health and wellbeing of members and communities for more than 90 years. With a strong purpose, values-led culture and an exciting transformation agenda underway, this is an opportunity to join an organisation where technology is recognised as a strategic enabler of growth, innovation and exceptional customer experiences. You'll inherit an experienced team and a broad remit spanning infrastructure, cloud services, enterprise service management, end-user computing and technology operations, with genuine scope to influence strategy, capability and long-term business outcomes.

In this role you will:

  • Lead enterprise infrastructure, cloud services and technology operations, ensuring high availability, resilience and performance across the organisation.
  • Drive the ongoing uplift of enterprise service management through ITIL best practice, automation, observability and continuous improvement.
  • Own a significant technology operating budget and vendor portfolio, balancing commercial outcomes with service quality and innovation.
  • Build and develop a high-performing team while partnering with executives and business leaders to shape technology strategy and operational priorities.
  • Play a key leadership role in GMHBA's technology transformation, modernising infrastructure and service delivery capabilities to support future growth.

We're seeking an accomplished technology leader who brings proven experience leading enterprise infrastructure and service management functions within complex, regulated environments. You'll combine strong technical credibility with commercial acumen, exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to lead through change.

Comfortable operating at executive level, you'll have a track record of building high-performing teams, optimising technology operations and delivering meaningful transformation that improves both business outcomes and customer experience. Experience within health, insurance, financial services or another APRA-regulated environment will be highly regarded.
