About the Role
This is a senior leadership opportunity to step into a Group Manager – Human Resources role, leading HR, Payroll and Workplace Health & Safety across the Diocese.

You will play a key role in shaping workforce strategy, supporting senior leaders and driving outcomes across a diverse and decentralised environment.

This role will see you balancing both strategic leadership and hands-on delivery, including:

  • Leading HR strategy aligned to organisational values and mission
  • Managing complex ER/IR matters and stakeholder engagement
  • Overseeing payroll and WHS functions
  • Supporting workforce planning, retention and engagement initiatives
  • Driving key projects including clergy attraction and organisational capability

This is an initial 6-month contract, with a strong likelihood of long term extension.

About You
You are an experienced HR leader who is comfortable operating in complex environments and enjoys variety in your role.

You bring:

  • Proven senior HR leadership experience
  • Strong ER/IR capability and sound judgement
  • Experience working across complex or decentralised organisations
  • The ability to influence and build trust with a broad stakeholder group
  • A balance of strategic thinking and hands-on delivery

You are known for being:

  • Approachable, warm and authentic
  • Credible and confident in your advice
  • Practical and solutions-focused

This organisation operates within a Christian values based environment. You do not need to be actively practising; however, you must be comfortable working within a faith-based setting and supporting those values in a professional context.

The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to step into a role where your work will have genuine impact beyond the workplace.

You will be part of an organisation deeply connected to the communities it serves, where decisions are made with a focus on people, purpose and long-term impact.
