About the Role
As the Geospatial Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert for GIS technologies, application development, spatial databases, and enterprise integrations. You will work closely with business stakeholders, enterprise architects, and technical teams to develop scalable GIS solutions that support organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and optimise enterprise GIS applications and platforms.
- Maintain and enhance corporate spatial databases and datasets.
- Develop GIS applications, integrations, and automated workflows.
- Manage Intramaps and associated web-based GIS applications.
- Design and maintain spatial ETL processes using SQL and FME.
- Support field data collection and mobile GIS solutions.
- Deliver advanced spatial analysis, reporting, and mapping services.
- Implement data governance, quality assurance, and security controls.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and support to GIS team members.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture and data governance teams to align GIS systems with broader organisational strategies
About You
You are a highly skilled GIS professional with strong development and systems integration expertise, capable of delivering enterprise-wide geospatial solutions and driving continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in GIS, Computer Science, Geospatial Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience managing enterprise GIS environments.
- Strong expertise with:
- ArcGIS Pro
- QGIS
- AutoCAD Map 3D
- Intramaps
- SQL Server Spatial
- FME Desktop & Server
- Experience with GIS application development and systems integration.
- Strong SQL and spatial database management skills.
- Knowledge of web services, raster management, and cloud-based spatial solutions.
- Proven experience delivering GIS projects and technical solutions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Current Victorian Driver's Licence.
Desirable
- Government experience.
- Experience developing automated GIS processes and workflows.
- Exposure to enterprise architecture and data governance frameworks
