Reporting to the Managing Director, the General Manager Service Delivery & Environment will lead South Gippsland Water’s water and wastewater operations, including treatment, networks, dispatch, trade waste, and environmental management. In this role, you will shape a safety-first, high-performing culture, modernise maintenance and operational practices, and build strong leadership capability across the team. You will also provide strategic advice to the Managing Director and Board, drive operational excellence, deliver measurable improvements, and build lasting relationships with regulators, government, contractors, and the community. This is a key executive role where you will be able to make tangible impacts on the reliability and sustainability of essential water services. You will be a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, responsible for the strategic direction and performance of the organisation.
To be considered for this role, you will bring senior leadership experience managing service delivery across diverse assets and teams supported by deep sector knowledge in water or broader utilities. You will be a strategic and creative thinker, capable of providing high-value advice and direction to the Executive Team and Board, while contributing more broadly to organisational strategy. You bring a track record of leading change, challenging the status quo, driving operational excellence within tight financial constraints, and supporting teams to deliver high standards, manage risks, and continuously improve. Additionally, you will possess exceptional stakeholder engagement skills, enabling you to build partnerships that deliver commercial and reputational benefits for the organisation.
