At Scope, we create meaningful opportunities for people with disability to belong and thrive. Our vision is to empower clients and employees to live their dreams while influencing positive change for people with disability. Scope is a registered provider under the NDIS and delivers a range of services including supported independent living, short term accommodation (respite), social connection, lifestyle options, therapy and employment services. Scope has managed revenue of $588M and employs circa 7000 personnel across 420 service locations within Victoria and NSW.
Following a recent restructure, this newly created role brings together property and asset management to create a more integrated, efficient and client-focused function. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the General Manager, Property & Assets will lead a team of 20+ across property, asset improvement, tenancy, fleet, and facilities. You’ll be responsible for ensuring Scope’s 400+ properties (including over 380 supported homes) are safe, compliant and delivering the best possible experience for clients and teams.
This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role focused on execution, operational uplift and cultural transformation rather than building strategy from scratch.
Key Priorities
- Drive operational efficiency: implement new systems and reporting to improve visibility and build trust across maintenance and facilities management
- Build trust and collaboration: strengthen relationships with operational teams, ensuring property and assets are seen as trusted, responsive partners
- Lead cultural and reputational change: bring a customer experience lens, demonstrate empathy and communication within the team, and embed a service excellence mindset
- Optimise property utilisation: challenge assumptions, influence decisions, and ensure Scope’s property and leasing arrangements deliver value and align with strategy
- Strengthen key external relationships: engage proactively with major landlords and partners
- Manage compliance and risk: ensure property and fleet operations meet all regulatory and safety requirements
- Lead and empower your team: bring clarity, capability and cohesion to a function that’s ready to perform at its best
To be successful in this role you will be an experienced property or asset leader with a track record of leading large, diverse portfolios, ideally across multi-site environments such as health, education, social infrastructure or housing.
You will bring:
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with empathy and emotional intelligence
- Operational excellence, experienced in driving systems and process improvement
- Confidence managing complex stakeholder environments with competing priorities
- Sound commercial acumen and experience with compliance, capital development and leasing
- A collaborative, inclusive approach and the resilience to lead change in a brownfield environment
Whether your background is in the not-for-profit, public or private sectors, what matters most is your ability to lead transformation through people. To view the Success Profile for this opportunity, please copy and paste the following link into your browser: https://tinyurl.com/2rxs7m6c
