Energy Safe Victoria is the State’s safety regulator for electricity, gas and pipelines. As the General Manager of People and Culture you will be responsible for executing the people and culture strategy for Energy Safe, in the context of a changing external landscape and complex stakeholder environment. You will lead a portfolio across all facets of human resources, organisational development, and health, safety and wellbeing, ensuring support and services meet current and future business needs, and are compliant with relevant laws and regulations. You will oversee the regulator’s approach to strategic workforce planning, attraction and retention of talent, employee engagement, industrial relations, diversity and inclusion, learning and development, and cultural alignment in line with legislative compliance and best practice to ensure a future ready workforce.

Critical to your success will be your ability to embed strategy, effectively manage complex industrial relations matters and drive opportunities for learning and performance, while ensuring cultural alignment. In addition, you will lead the introduction of a Learning & Development capability framework across the organisation and work with Energy Safe staff to implement the recently approved Enterprise Agreement. As an influential, strategic and trusted advisor to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Energy Safety Commission, you will drive workforce agility, build people capability and a high performing and values-driven culture that aligns with Energy Safe’s vision, and purpose.

You will be a highly respected People & Culture leader, with demonstrated experience leading diverse People & Culture portfolios, across highly regulated and unionised operating environments. You will bring proven experience in strategic workforce planning, organisational design, and reform-aligned capability development. You are highly regarded for your strategic thinking and ability to partner with executive to build culture and drive execution on strategy at an organisational level. Recognised as consultative and collaborative leader, you have successfully built capability and culture across teams to ensure accountability and drive execution. Experience in Victorian employment law, industrial relations frameworks, and public sector governance would be highly regarded.
