The Role
The General Manager Digital & Commercial Innovation is a newly shaped executive role reporting to the Managing Director. As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work across the organisation to design and deliver strategies that create customer value, community impact and regional growth. You will lead two critical portfolios that will shape the organisation’s future:
Digital & Business Transformation: Drive North East Water’s digital, data and cyber strategies, uplifting capability, embedding innovation, and harnessing emerging technologies such as AI to enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, and sustainability outcomes.
New Revenue growth Strategy: Progress innovative commercial prospects that grow revenue and achieve business efficiencies through circular economy and waste to value initiatives, energy and agribusiness opportunities, innovative partnerships, and securing funding to strengthen financial sustainability.
About You
You are a proven executive leader with experience in digital and data transformation and security, and commercial growth in sectors such as water, utilities, infrastructure or related services. You thrive on future-focused strategy and know how to translate it into results on the ground. You bring commercial acumen, an appetite for innovation, and the ability to lead change in complex environments. You are skilled at building partnerships and engaging stakeholders, with proven experience delivering customer-centric digital solutions that balance regulatory requirements while embracing emerging technologies and digital trends.
