Senior Functional/Technical Business Analyst – Dynamics 365
The opportunity
Functional Business Analys for a Microsoft Dynamics 365 transformation focused on improving Sales and Operations capability, ( S & O ) process maturity and adoption.
This is a hands-on Senior BA role working across business and technology teams, with responsibility for analysing current processes, identifying gaps and translating business needs into practical D365 solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and the implementation vendor to improve ways of working, strengthen documentation and support successful adoption.
Key responsibilities
- Business analysis activities across D365 implementation and improvement initiatives.
- Analyse AS-IS processes, pain points, manual workarounds, capability gaps and improvement opportunities.
- Facilitate workshops with Sales, Operations, Customer Service, Finance and ICT stakeholders.
- Define practical TO-BE processes, roles, responsibilities and process ownership.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis across D365 functionality, configuration, integrations, data and reporting.
- Elicit and document business, functional and non-functional requirements, business rules, user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Produce BPMN process maps, functional specifications, decision logs and requirements traceability.
- Work with the implementation partner to review deliverables, clarify requirements, resolve issues and support knowledge transfer.
- Coordinate change and adoption activities, including stakeholder readiness, communications, training needs and user support.
- Support UAT, test scenarios, defect triage, business sign-off, cutover and go-live readiness.
- Identify opportunities for standardisation, continuous improvement and sustainable internal capability.
What you will bring
- Recent experience as a Senior Business Analyst on Microsoft Dynamics 365 initiatives.
- Functional focus / with a technical understanding across D365 Sales, CE/CRM, Customer Service, Finance & Operations or Business Central.
- Experience working across Sales, customer, service delivery or operational processes.
- Proven capability in AS-IS/TO-BE analysis, fit-gap assessment and process improvement.
- Excellent requirements elicitation, workshop facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience producing clear process maps, requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and functional documentation.
- Experience working with system integrators, vendors or implementation partners.
- Exposure to change, adoption, UAT, data, integrations, reporting and implementation readiness.
- A practical consultant mindset, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguity, challenge assumptions and influence without authority.
Experience with Power Platform, Dataverse, Power BI, Azure integration or Dynamics 365 certifications will be highly regarded.
