The Opportunity
This is a chance to join a high-impact project building a modern, map-centric analytics platform used to support complex scenario modelling and data-driven decision-making. You will take ownership of the frontend technical direction, shape how large geospatial datasets are visualised, and help deliver an interactive platform that balances performance, usability, and long-term maintainability. It is a strong fit for someone who enjoys solving complex frontend challenges, working closely with technical specialists, and building products that need to scale.

The Role
In this role, you will lead the frontend design and development of a data-intensive web application with a strong geospatial focus.

  • Lead the frontend architecture, including standards, tooling, and best practice
  • Build advanced map-based visualisations for large and complex datasets
  • Develop scenario comparison, temporal playback, and network-level data views
  • Integrate frontend components with backend APIs and data services
  • Improve performance, scalability, and usability across a high-volume application
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing to support long-term uplift

About You
You are a strong frontend engineer with real depth in React, TypeScript, and browser-based geospatial visualisation.

  • Proven experience building frontend applications for data-heavy or geospatial use cases
  • Strong React and TypeScript capability across scalable, maintainable applications
  • Experience with tools such as Mapbox GL JS, MapLibre, deck.gl, or similar
  • Solid understanding of rendering performance across large datasets and multiple layers
  • Familiarity with authentication patterns, including enterprise or SSO environments
  • Confident working with APIs, Docker, and cloud-hosted environments such as AWS
