Financial Crime Compliance (FCC) Consultant

JOB OVERVIEW:

We are partnering with a leading consulting organisation supporting a major financial services client on a large-scale financial crime compliance initiative. We are seeking experienced FCC Consultants with strong expertise in financial crime risk, controls, and compliance testing within banking or financial services environments.
This opportunity is ideal for professionals who have worked across financial crime frameworks and possess hands-on experience in control testing, internal audit, external audit, or compliance assurance functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform financial crime compliance control testing and assurance activities
  • Assess effectiveness of AML/CTF, sanctions, fraud, and transaction monitoring controls
  • Review and evaluate governance, reporting, training, CDD, and EDD processes
  • Identify control gaps, weaknesses, and remediation opportunities
  • Support compliance uplift and regulatory change initiatives
  • Collaborate with risk, compliance, audit, and operational stakeholders

Required Experience

  • 3+ years’ experience in FCC control testing, compliance testing, or audit roles
  • Strong understanding of Australian AML/CTF, fraud, and sanctions regulations
  • Knowledge of regulatory changes relating to Tranche 2 reforms
  • Experience across multiple pillars of financial crime programs including:
  • CDD / KYC
  • Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
  • Transaction Monitoring
  • Sanctions
  • Fraud Risk
  • Governance & Reporting
  • Previous experience within banking or financial services environments
  • Australian working rights required

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to digital assets / crypto compliance environments
  • Broader compliance testing experience outside FCC

This is a fully remote opportunity within Australia, working on a high-profile regulatory and compliance program.
