We are seeking someone who brings strong technical knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business. While you won’t be expected to be a fixed assets or tax specialist, you will need a solid working understanding of both.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Accounting Advice & Support
- Provide guidance on technical accounting matters in line with relevant standards, policies, and audit requirements.
- Support the business with interpretation of accounting and tax concepts.
Statutory Reporting
- Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and external reporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, and government reporting obligations.
Transactional Accounting & Operations
- Support daily transactional accounting activities including treasury and banking operations.
- Maintain integrity of the general ledger, sub-ledgers, and reconciliations.
General Reporting & Controls
- Prepare internal financial reports, investigate variances, and ensure strong financial controls are upheld.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation initiatives.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- 5+ years’ experience in a Financial Accounting role with strong understanding of technical accounting and taxation concepts.
- High proficiency with finance ERP systems; Oracle experience highly regarded.
- Demonstrated experience managing general ledger and sub‑ledger functions.
- Strong background in statutory reporting and business reporting deliverables.
- Proven ability to reconcile complex data sets and investigate discrepancies.
- Strong analytical mindset with high attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and drive process improvements.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting plus CPA or CA accreditation.
