Due to a team member taking extended leave, the organisation is looking for a Financial Accountant to join the team on a 6-month contract and provide key support across the finance function.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant and working closely with the broader finance team, this is a hands-on role where you will play an important part in supporting the organisation’s day-to-day financial operations.
The position has a strong focus on cashflow management, accounts receivable and month-end reporting, and will see you working across multiple systems and stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing weekly cashflow forecasts and consolidating inputs from internal stakeholders
- Maintaining the debtors ledger, monitoring outstanding balances and producing debtor reports
- Processing journals and assisting with month-end close activities
- Supporting the preparation and distribution of monthly financial reports
- Assisting with client billing procedures and revenue-related processes
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations, particularly for accrued revenue and revenue received in advance
- Responding to finance-related queries from internal teams
- Supporting internal and external audit preparation
The role will initially be based in the office five days per week to allow you to get up to speed with the team and systems, with flexibility to move to three to four days in the office once settled.
About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working in a collaborative team environment and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely financial information.
You will bring:
- At least three years’ experience in a commercial accounting or finance role
- Strong experience with accounts receivable and cashflow management
- Experience supporting month-end processes, journals and reconciliations
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
- Experience working with ERP systems, ideally NetSuite
- A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with a range of internal stakeholders
