About the Role
This is a 12-month maternity leave contract for a hands-on, full-function accounting role that supports both daily operations and month-end financial processes. Reporting into the finance team, you will manage AP and AR functions, assist with compliance, support inventory close and contribute to broader reconciliation and reporting duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing vendor payments and managing uploads to the bank
- Managing accounts receivable and providing timely ageing reports
- Creating and distributing sales invoices to customers
- Supporting month-end close including journals, reconciliations and variance analysis
- Preparing month-end reporting files for consolidation
- Assisting with inventory closure and related internal controls
- Managing intercompany reconciliations and payments
- Preparing BAS, GST and FBT returns to ensure tax compliance
- Assisting in producing management information reports
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and offering finance support day to day
About You
You are an experienced and detail-oriented accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You enjoy taking ownership of your work, spotting opportunities to add value and supporting both your team and stakeholders across the business.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or Finance
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar accounting or accounts officer role
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with MYOB or Microsoft Dynamics (desirable but not essential)
- A proactive mindset and willingness to work as part of a cross-functional, multicultural team
