Working closely with the Finance Director, you will oversee the day-to-day finance function while supporting the business through continued growth and a system transition.

About the Role

You will take ownership of the finance function across three active business divisions covering large-scale commercial construction projects, service operations and medium-sized project delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly management reports, P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting
  • Budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis
  • Managing intercompany transactions and reconciliations across multiple entities
  • Managing and mentoring a small finance team consisting of AP and Payroll support staff
  • Managing BAS, FBT and compliance reporting
  • Overseeing retentions, claims, progress payments and subcontractor payment processes
  • Managing bank guarantees and fixed asset registers
  • Supporting a systems transition
  • Working closely with operational leaders to improve financial processes and reporting accuracy

About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Previous Finance Manager, Financial Controller or senior accounting experience within construction or a related project-based industry
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles including retentions, claims and progress payments
  • Experience overseeing payroll, compliance and month-end reporting
  • Confidence working across multiple entities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to support and mentor a small team
  • A practical, no-nonsense approach with strong communication skills

The Benefits

This business has built a strong reputation in the industry and genuinely looks after its people. Benefits include:

  • Yearly discretionary bonus
  • Six additional well-being days per year on top of annual leave
  • Friday drinks and regular team lunches
  • Stable, long-standing leadership team
  • Diverse business operations and interesting project exposure
  • Opportunity to play a key role in upcoming business growth and systems improvements
