About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, this newly created Finance Manager position is designed for a finance leader who thrives on structure, compliance and precision. Your primary responsibility will be to establish and maintain a finance function that is audit-ready, funding-compliant and governance-led.
This role is about much more than just numbers. It requires a deep understanding of financial risk, statutory obligations and sector-specific compliance, with a hands-on approach to implementation and oversight. You’ll also play a supporting role in strategic planning and reporting, with tools like Power BI available to translate financial data into operational insight.
Key Responsibilities

Build a best-practice finance function with clear policies, controls and accountability

Lead all statutory and management reporting, ensuring full audit compliance

Oversee internal controls, risk frameworks and financial governance structures

Manage regulatory reporting and ensure alignment with funding body requirements

Drive accurate budgeting, forecasting and cost control in partnership with leadership

Support the CEO with financial modelling and long-term planning

Manage a finance officer and help build a performance-driven team culture

Support system improvement and automation with integrity and accuracy in mind
About You
You are a technically strong finance professional with a strong sense of responsibility and a clear understanding of how robust governance builds trust and credibility. You have operated in environments where compliance is non-negotiable and audit standards are high, and you are confident leading others through processes that protect the business and its funding arrangements.
Your profile includes:

Extensive experience in financial governance, compliance and audit management

Demonstrated ability to implement internal controls and financial risk frameworks

Deep knowledge of reporting obligations for government-funded or regulated entities

Strong statutory and management accounting capability

Working knowledge of Power BI and the ability to present financial insights

CA or CPA qualification (or in final stages)

Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with executive leadership

Practical, hands-on style with an eye for detail and a commitment to integrity
