Resources Victoria’s mission is to facilitate informed and responsible earth resources exploration, development, extraction, and rehabilitation, through our applied geoscience, policy, engagement, and regulation. Our priorities are to increase investment in Victoria’s earth resources, including new critical minerals, build confidence in the performance of the sector and its regulation, and to secure the supply of quarry materials essential for new infrastructure and construction.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, Regulatory Operations is responsible for leading Victoria’s resources and mining industry regulatory function. You will plan and deliver risk-based engagement, education, regulation, and enforcement programs; ultimately providing authoritative advice on issues relating to permits and licensing in the earth resources. Implementing strategies to enhance effective community engagement, including providing advice on the changing nature of stakeholders in the mining, extractives and petroleum industries, you will lead the performance of people through strengthening capability and engagement, while championing a diverse, safe, inclusive culture aligned with Resources Victoria’s values.
As contemporary leader, you have demonstrated experience leading diverse regulatory teams within government, regulatory environment, or a large complex organisation. You are well respected for your ability to set strategic direction, deliver regulatory reform, and service delivery outcomes while building a responsive workforce culture within a complex changing operating environment. Your effective engagement and ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders across industry and government will put you in good stead to provide strategic advice on complex matters and regulatory frameworks.
