The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (RANZCP) is the professional body responsible for training, educating, and representing psychiatrists in Australia and New Zealand. Committed to excellence and equity in mental healthcare, the RANZCP supports its members and advocates for improved mental health outcomes across its communities. The College’s work focuses on enhancing psychiatric education, promoting access and equity through advocacy and collaboration, and fostering a connected, contemporary organisation that benefits both its members and the public. Governed by a Board of Directors, RANZCP operates with a dedicated team and numerous committees, maintaining strong relationships with governments and key stakeholders across both countries.
The College is seeking an exceptional senior leader to join our Executive Leadership Team as Executive Director, Member Experience. This is a rare opportunity to shape and lead the end-to-end member experience for a bi-national professional body at a time of significant transformation, growth and impact across mental health in Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Executive Director, Member Experience provides strategic, forward-thinking leadership across an integrated portfolio of member services, customer experience, engagement, partnerships, marketing and events. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will influence whole-of-organisation strategy and culture while championing inclusive, accessible and culturally safe engagement with members and communities.
You will lead a significant transformation of the College’s member experience by:
- Redesigning service models and customer journeys
- Building high-performing, customer-centric teams
- Embedding continuous improvement, systems thinking and evidence-based decision-making
- Strengthening the College’s brand, value proposition and financial sustainability
As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will provide authoritative advice to the CEO, Board and senior committees, while leading and developing a high-performing, values-aligned Membership team. You are a senior executive with a strong track record in member experience, customer service, engagement, marketing or related fields, and are motivated by purpose-driven leadership and bring:
- Postgraduate qualifications in marketing, communications, business or a related discipline or relevant experience
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale, integrated experience or service transformation
- A strong customer-centric mindset and experience redesigning end-to-end journeys
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship-building capability
- Proven financial and people leadership across complex portfolios
- A commitment to equity, inclusion, cultural safety and lived experience perspectives
Experience in the mental health, health, education, membership or not-for-profit sectors, and across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand, will be highly regarded.
