Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is the governing body for the state's harness racing industry. As a purpose-led organisation, HRV reinvests all profits back into clubs, services and communities. We promote an inclusive, fast-paced sporting culture while also operating the Melton Entertainment Park - a vibrant hospitality and events venue that hosts major racing meets and community events.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised events professional who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment. Sitting within a small and collaborative marketing team, this role is 70% focused on end-to-end event coordination, with the remaining 30% supporting broader marketing and campaign activity.

You’ll take the lead in helping deliver major race days, feature events, award nights and charity activations at both HRV venues and Melton Entertainment Park, coordinating everything from suppliers and budgets to event day execution and post-event wrap-ups.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Plan, coordinate and deliver HRV’s calendar of feature race days, community events and entertainment activations
  • Oversee venue logistics, supplier coordination, quoting, and stakeholder communications
  • Be on-the-ground managing events – including setup, troubleshooting and live coordination
  • Lead post-event reporting, surveys, and performance insights
  • Support the rollout of integrated campaigns via social media, email, digital and print
  • Coordinate the development of creative and event collateral (Canva/Adobe)
  • Assist with internal campaigns and partner sponsorship activations
  • Collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders - clubs, vendors, government, community groups


About You

You’re someone who lives and breathes events - not just from behind the scenes, but in the thick of delivery. You love a fast-paced calendar, enjoy managing logistics and people, and know how to juggle competing timelines while staying calm under pressure.

You might come from a background in sports, entertainment, hospitality or community events, and you’re ready to step into a role where your organisational skills and energy will have real impact.

You’ll stand out if you have:

  • Proven experience managing events end-to-end — ideally in a sporting or entertainment setting
  • Confidence owning the delivery of multiple concurrent events
  • Strong coordination skills - suppliers, vendors, internal teams, timelines
  • High attention to detail and the ability to stay cool on event day
  • A background in marketing, communications or event promotion
  • Strong written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe, email marketing or CRM platforms
  • A Victorian driver’s licence and comfort with flexible hours for race days (weekends/evenings as required)
