About the Role
We are seeking Expressions of Interest for an experienced Environment and Planning Manager
to lead key environmental and statutory planning workstreams for a major infrastructure project. This role will be instrumental in the preparation and coordination of the Environmental Effects Statement (EES) and will ensure alignment with Victoria’s regulatory frameworks and project timelines.
Based in Melbourne with some travel to regional sites and stakeholder meetings, this role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the successful delivery of critical energy infrastructure.
About You
You are an environmental or statutory planning professional with at least 7 years’ experience in environmental impact assessment and approvals—ideally on large-scale, linear infrastructure projects such as transmission lines, roads, or rail.
You are confident preparing EES documentation, managing environmental approvals under Victorian legislation, and working closely with regulatory agencies, consultants, and project partners.
A calm and methodical communicator, you bring strong cross-functional collaboration skills and a focus on enabling progress through timely planning outcomes. Experience in energy infrastructure or transmission is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation and coordination of the project’s Environment Effects Statement (EES).
- Develop and maintain the Environmental Management Framework in accordance with project and regulatory requirements.
- Manage approvals under Victorian legislation including the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act, Aboriginal Heritage Act, Environment Protection Act, and Planning and Environment Act.
- Liaise with government agencies, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely environmental and planning approvals.
- Provide subject matter expertise on statutory planning matters and environmental assessment strategies.
- Ensure environmental risks are identified, assessed, and effectively managed during planning and approvals phases.
- Support cross-functional collaboration with legal, stakeholder engagement, and project delivery teams.
- Ensure all activities align with project milestones, regulatory expectations, and environmental commitments.
