The Opportunity

Our client in the utilities sector is undergoing a major digital transformation, starting with the replacement of core systems like finance, billing, asset management, and CRM. They're in the early stages of this multi-year program and are looking to establish a clear enterprise architecture foundation to support the rollout of a new ERP. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation embarking on a major enterprise transformation.

Working closely with an experienced and collaborative program leadership team, you’ll help shape and establish the architectural foundations that will underpin a new ERP and broader digital strategy. This role offers real impact, variety, and the chance to influence enterprise-level systems across a complex and evolving technology landscape.

This is an office facing role (1-2 days work from home) based in Werribee, Melborune. Initial 6 month contract with strong scope to extend, 3 year program.



The Role

As an Enterprise Architect, you will be responsible for leading the definition of current and target state architecture to support a large-scale ERP program and digital transformation agenda.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders across the business to capture, document, and analyse current systems, integrations, and data flows.
  • Designing future-state enterprise architecture aligned with business capabilities, integration patterns, and strategic outcomes.
  • Leading the architectural components of ERP and related system implementations, with a strong focus on data interoperability and API-led integration.
  • Establishing architectural governance frameworks, standards, and decision-making processes in alignment with public sector requirements.
  • Providing technical oversight during vendor selection, solution design, and implementation to ensure alignment with strategic direction.
  • Supporting capability uplift through documentation, mentorship, and structured handover of architectural artefacts and practices.

About You

In order to be a successful applicant, you will bring demonstrated experience delivering enterprise architecture in complex or low-maturity environments.

You will also have:

  • Proven experience in digital transformation and ERP initiatives, including developing architecture blueprints and integration strategies.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data, systems, and infrastructure, particularly with Microsoft Dynamics, TechOne, or similar platforms.
  • A collaborative and consultative approach with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders—from senior executives to operational staff.
  • Exposure to public sector standards, including VPS-aligned governance, VPDSF, and Essential 8 frameworks (desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical detail into clear strategic advice.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, Engineering, or a related field; TOGAF certification or equivalent preferred.
