The Director of Pharmacy leads one of Australia’s most diverse and innovative pharmacy services, building on a proud legacy of excellence that has been evolving since 1930. This role is responsible for delivering pharmacy services across Mater’s South-East Queensland hospitals, overseeing retail operations, and providing governance for more than 160 clinical trials. With a team of over 120 professionals, the Director will shape the clinical and commercial direction of pharmacy practice, ensuring medication safety, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Executive Director, Health Integration and Community Care, this position plays a pivotal role in aligning pharmacy services with Mater’s strategic plan and mission.
We are seeking a visionary and collaborative leader with demonstrated success in executive-level pharmacy leadership. You will bring:
- Proven capability in clinical governance, medication safety, and pharmacy innovation.
- Strong commercial and financial management skills, including procurement and budget oversight.
- Experience in leading large, high-performing teams within complex healthcare environments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- A commitment to advancing Mater’s Mission, Vision, and Values through culturally safe, patient-centred care.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy and registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (MBA or postgraduate business qualifications desirable).
