About the Organisation
The Anglican Church Southern Queensland (ACSQ) is one of 23 dioceses within the Anglican Church of Australia, supporting communities through a network of 134 parishes, 14 schools, 19 early education and care services, a theological college and a significant number of residential community and social service programs

The Anglican Schools Commission (ASC) plays a critical role in supporting affiliated schools and early learning centres, providing governance, HR advisory and workforce support services across a diverse and values-led network.

About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director (currently being recruited by Davidson), the Director, Human Resources is a senior advisory role with a dual strategic and operational focus.

This is not a traditional 'team leadership' role - instead, it operates as a central HR escalation and advisory function, supporting school-based HR teams and leaders across complex workforce matters.

Key areas include:

  • Providing high-level HR and ER advice across schools and early learning centres
  • Supporting and advising on complex employee relations matters and investigations
  • Contributing to enterprise bargaining processes and workforce strategy
  • Developing HR policies, contracts and governance frameworks
  • Coaching and supporting leaders to build capability across the network
  • Leading stakeholder engagement through the ASC HR network

This role is critical in balancing risk, governance and practical outcomes while supporting a diverse group of stakeholders.

About You
You are a senior HR practitioner who thrives in a consultative, multi-stakeholder environment.

You bring:

  • Strong generalist HR and senior HRBP experience
  • Deep expertise in employee relations and workplace legislation with experience managing complex and sensitive matters
  • Confidence operating in governance-driven or regulated environments
  • The ability to influence, coach and guide leaders without direct authority - a collaborative, relationship-led approach
  • Experience working in a multi-stakeholder or federated organisational environment is essential (e.g. education, not-for-profit, church-based sector)
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience (8 to 10 years in a similar role).
  • Membership with AHRI or other relevant professional bodies is desirable
  • Hold and maintain a current Working with Children Blue Card - or the ability to acquire
  • Hold and maintain a current National Police Certificate - or the ability to acquire
  • You must be an Australian Citizen or Permanaent Resident, or hold unrestricted work rights visa in Australia.
