- Shape the future of philanthropic leadership in Melbourne’s north
- Lead as a fundraising executive with purpose and impact
- Champion community and corporate engagement through purposeful giving
A rare opportunity has emerged to become a philanthropic leader who will actively contribute to transforming health outcomes for residents in Melbourne’s northern suburbs!
Northern Health provides crucial public healthcare services to one of the fastest growing and most culturally diverse regions of Victoria. With key developments underway such as the new community hospital in Mernda, the expansion of the existing Craigieburn Centre, and the redevelopment of the Northern Hospital in Epping, Northern Health's commitment to meeting this growing demand is both visionary and unwavering.
As the need for care grows, so does the importance of philanthropic support in leading healthcare innovation for Melbourne’s north, increasing health equity, and delivering service excellence. In response, Northern Health is now seeking a Director of the Northern Health Foundation to lead and elevate its philanthropic strategy during this pivotal period of organisational and regional transformation and development.
Reporting to a highly collaborative and supportive Executive Director, Public Affairs and Foundation, and working in partnership with the Northern Health Foundation Board, the Foundation Director will set the vision and strategy for fundraising, leading a high-performing team to achieve steady growth in philanthropic revenue. The Director will cultivate and steward strategic relationships across the government, corporate, and community sectors, enhancing Northern Health’s profile and strengthening its impact. With oversight of all fundraising operations – including major gifts, corporate partnerships, bequests, events, and digital campaigns – the Foundation Director will bring a bold and creative lens to donor engagement and fundraising innovation.
To succeed in this role, you will be an accomplished senior or executive fundraising professional with demonstrated experience generating philanthropic revenue through strategic and genuine donor engagement, ideally working in a large healthcare or not for profit setting. You have a successful track record of developing and implementing fit-for-purpose fundraising strategies and are comfortable liaising at executive and board level. You are a sophisticated communicator and purpose-driven leader who thrives when building relationships, motivating and inspiring teams, and building a philanthropic function that is serving the needs of the community.
