Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Customer and Performance will play a pivotal role in embedding a strong customer-centric approach across the organisation and strengthening overall organisational performance. Leading a broad and influential portfolio spanning people, culture and development, technology, customer and communications, strategy and transformation, and governance and risk, this role will ensure enabling services are positioned as trusted strategic partners to the organisation. Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team and the broader workforce, the Director will foster a culture of continuous improvement, uplift organisational capability and ensure the delivery of high-quality, responsive services that support long-term organisational sustainability.
To be successful, you will be a proven executive or senior leader with experience operating in complex and politically sensitive environments. You will bring sound commercial judgement, strong political acumen and the confidence to influence and challenge constructively at executive and Council levels. An empowering and agile leader, you will have demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams, working at pace and delivering measurable improvements in performance and service delivery. Experience in local government or the broader public sector is desirable, and a genuine passion for delivering positive outcomes for the community is essential.
