Frankston City Council is at a pivotal and exciting point in its evolution. Located on Melbourne’s stunning bayside fringe, Frankston offers a unique blend of coastal lifestyle, urban connectivity and economic opportunity. With beautiful beaches, a thriving arts and cultural scene, world-class health and education precincts, and strong transport links to Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, Frankston continues to emerge as one of Victoria’s most dynamic metropolitan centres. The city is undergoing significant transformation, driven by population growth, investment and a strong vision for the future. Frankston is building a connected, vibrant and inclusive community, one that balances lifestyle with opportunity and where residents, businesses and visitors alike can thrive.

Frankston City Council is entering a new chapter under new leadership, with the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer and the establishment of a contemporary Executive Leadership Team. The organisation is reshaping its executive structure to create a collaborative, outward-looking and high-performing leadership group focused on whole-of-organisation leadership, clear strategic priorities and delivering meaningful outcomes for the community.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director Community Connection will lead Council’s strategic community portfolio, driving integrated services, community wellbeing and organisational impact. The role provides leadership across community services, inclusion, recreation, engagement, safety and support functions, ensuring dynamic and future focused outcomes for the community. The Director will play a key role in shaping how Council engages with and responds to the evolving needs of the community through strategic partnerships, service innovation and organisational transformation. Working closely with Councillors, government and community partners, the role will champion solutions that strengthen inclusion and connected communities.

To be successful, you will be an accomplished executive leader with significant experience leading complex community, service delivery or people-focused portfolios within highly regulated environments. You bring a strong track record delivering strategic outcomes, leading transformation and building high-performing multidisciplinary teams. A strategic and authentic leader, you are recognised for your ability to build trusted relationships, influence across diverse stakeholder groups and navigate complexity. You are a collaborative, values-led leader with strong strategic capability and a passion for delivering meaningful organisational and community outcomes. Relevant tertiary qualifications are required.

This is an outstanding opportunity to influence the future direction, impact and connection of a major and evolving organisation through a broad and highly strategic executive leadership portfolio.
