Manningham Council is seeking a strategic and visionary leader to join the organisation as Director City Services. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a unique opportunity to become part of a high-performing Executive Management Team and help shape the future of one of Victoria’s most dynamic and liveable municipalities.
In this role, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across key portfolios, including Sustainable Futures, City Assets, City Projects, Infrastructure and Sustainable Operations, and Strategic Property.
As Director City Services, you will play a critical role in embedding a strong focus on public value in both strategic and operational decision-making. With a forward-thinking and innovative mindset, you will influence how Manningham designs and manages its built and natural environments—ensuring they remain vibrant, resilient, and community-focused.
As a key member of the Executive Management Team, you will contribute to long-term planning and service delivery, while fostering strong, collaborative relationships with Councillors, government partners, and external stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be an executive or senior leader with demonstrated capability in leading major service delivery improvements and overseeing large asset management and infrastructure delivery programs. You will be adept at leveraging data and insights to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive innovation. With a proven track record in delivering complex infrastructure projects, environmental initiatives, and strategic programs aligned to community needs, you bring the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and navigate politically sensitive environments with sound judgement and agility.
Your strengths will include leading cultural change, driving organisational transformation, and applying data-driven decision-making. You will be an innovative thinker with strong public sector leadership credentials, known for your exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Your ability to influence, collaborate, and build enduring relationships across all levels of government and the community will be key to your success.
