The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a high-impact team within a large, complex organisation operating across operations and assets. Working as part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary team, you will apply advanced analytics and structured problem-solving to tackle complex, high-value challenges across the organisation, delivering insights that directly influence performance improvement and business outcomes.


Initial 6 month daily rate contract with strong scope to extend. Must be able to attend the Brisbane CBD office 3 days per week. Unfortunetly sponsorship is not available for this position.


The Role

As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for identifying and delivering data-driven performance improvement opportunities across the organisation.

Your other responsibilities will include:

  • Partner closely with business stakeholders to frame and define complex problems
  • Applying structured problem-solving approaches to investigate performance, capability, and value opportunities
  • Developing and applying descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive analytics using Python
  • Analysing structured and unstructured datasets to generate actionable insights
  • Writing high-quality analytical code and applying statistical and machine learning techniques where appropriate
  • Presenting insights, recommendations, and outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all organisational levels



About You

In order to be a successful applicant you will have proven experience delivering analytics outcomes in complex business environments.

You will also have:

  • Strong commercial experience using Python and SQL for data analysis and modelling
  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous problem statements and translate them into analytical solutions
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and structured problem-solving capability
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in consulting (highly regarded)
