Davidson Technology are working with a large State Government Department to secure an experience Data Modeler to assist in the design and development of data assets for the department.



About the Role

As a seasoned Data Modeler, you’ll be responsible for designing and developing definitions of the Department’s Data Assets, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements. You’ll be involved in engaging with stakeholders to analyse data schemas, transform requirements into reporting and analytics Data Assets, and document key elements such as lineage, business rules, and quality standards within Data Dictionaries and Metadata libraries. You will also establish and maintain modelling and design standards, reverse engineer physical models into target designs, and represent data at conceptual, logical, and physical levels using contemporary modelling tools. This position requires strong collaboration, prioritisation, and technical expertise to deliver consistent, high-quality data models that support decision-making across the department.



About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll demonstrate extensive experience across large and complex Data & Analytics platforms, bringing strong expertise in data modelling, analysis, and engineering within enterprise ICT programs. You’ll be skilled in contemporary data and business intelligence technologies, with a deep understanding of data governance, management, and master data requirements as well as being proficient in developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models using industry-standard tools, and experienced in cloud-based data transformation, DevOps, and pipeline management. You will be adept at collaborating with both business and technical stakeholders to define data definitions and ensure alignment with enterprise standards, while applying your strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills to deliver high-quality, well-governed data solutions.



The Benefits

You will be offered a 12-month contract (possible extension) on an excellent daily rate and the ability to negotiate a flexible working arrangement for the duration of the assignment.
