About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on Data Governance Analyst, Business Analyst or Process Analyst to support a major financial services transition program focused on data governance, access controls and the maintenance of a Data and Access Controls Framework.
This contract opportunity will suit someone with strong experience across data governance, process analysis or business analysis, ideally gained in financial services or another regulated environment. The successful candidate will support the documentation, coordination and implementation of controls across data handling, access, transfer, movement, usage restrictions and related governance processes.

Key Responsibilities
Data Governance & Framework Support
· Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Data and Access Controls Framework across the transition program.
· Analyse and document data governance processes, control requirements and implementation activities.
· Work with stakeholders to define how data should be accessed, transferred, moved, handled, monitored and governed.
· Translate framework requirements into clear business, process and implementation documentation.
· Identify gaps, dependencies, risks and actions relating to data governance and access controls.
Control Implementation
Support the definition, documentation and implementation of controls across:
· Physical security
· Logical access
· Data transfer
· Data movement
· Data handling
· Usage restrictions
· Monitoring and logging
Business Analysis & Process Documentation
· Run workshops to capture data governance, access control and process requirements.
· Document current-state and future-state processes where required.
· Produce clear requirements, process maps, control documentation and implementation artefacts.
· Maintain traceability between framework requirements, control obligations, implementation actions and evidence.
· Support the creation and maintenance of control registers, action trackers, RAID logs and implementation status reporting.
Stakeholder Coordination
· Coordinate across business, technology, data, risk, security and delivery teams.
· Facilitate discussions to clarify ownership, dependencies, decisions and implementation responsibilities.
· Track actions, risks, issues and open decisions through to closure.
· Support governance forums and status reporting.
· Escalate blockers early and help maintain delivery momentum.
Assurance & Implementation Readiness
· Support first-line implementation assurance for agreed data and access controls.
· Help validate that controls are documented, implemented and evidenced.
· Coordinate evidence gathering and readiness updates.
· Support practical control adoption across business and technology teams.
· Ensure documentation is clear, auditable and suitable for a regulated environment.
Required Experience
· 5–8 years’ experience as a Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Data Anayst, Process Analyst, Data Governance Analyst, Project Analyst or PM/BA.
· Experience working on data governance, data framework, access control, data migration, transition or transformation programs.
· Strong understanding of process documentation, control implementation and governance artefacts.
· Exposure to one or more of the following: data governance frameworks, access controls, logical access, data movement or transfer controls, data handling controls, information security, risk controls or operational control implementation.
· Strong documentation skills, including process maps, requirements, control artefacts, RAID logs, action trackers and status reports.
· Ability to run workshops and coordinate outcomes across business and technology stakeholders.
· Experience working in financial services, banking or another regulated environment is highly desirable.
· Comfortable supporting implementation assurance, evidence capture and governance reporting.
About You
You are a practical analyst with a strong grounding in data governance, process analysis and control implementation. You are comfortable working through ambiguity, clarifying control requirements, documenting processes and coordinating stakeholders to implement controls in a regulated environment.
You will bring a structured, hands-on approach and the ability to work pragmatically across business, technology, risk, security and data teams. If you are located in Melbourne to Sydney you must be flexible to travel
