Data Governance Analyst

About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Data Governance Analyst to support a large-scale data uplift program within a public sector utility. The focus will be on strengthening data governance frameworks, supporting the rollout of metadata tools, and improving data quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and document business and data requirements through stakeholder engagement
- Perform data assessments including profiling, lineage analysis, and issue resolution
- Validate data integrity throughout migration activities
- Identify process gaps and recommend governance or training solutions
- Assist in implementing data governance tools and interpreting profiling results
- Monitor and improve data quality, including missing or inconsistent values
About You
- 5+ years of experience in data/information management
- Proven experience in data governance, data quality, and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, SOCI, Public Records Act)
- Hands-on knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Purview and Alation
- SQL or other data querying experience highly desirable
- Strong stakeholder engagement and documentation skills
- Relevant certifications in data management a plus
