About the Company

Join a high-profile, multi-year data transformation program that is reshaping how one of Queensland's largest organisations uses data to drive better decision-making. You'll play a key role in building a modern Enterprise Data Platform using Microsoft Fabric and Azure, delivering secure, scalable data products that support analytics and reporting across the business. This is an initial contract through to 30 June 2027, with hybrid working available and the opportunity to work with the latest Microsoft data technologies on a genuinely impactful enterprise program.



About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer, you'll help design, build, and optimise modern data solutions that enable trusted, high-quality insights across the organisation. You'll work closely with data governance specialists, analysts, and product owners to deliver enterprise-grade data products.

  • Develop and maintain Microsoft Fabric pipelines, Lakehouses, Notebooks, and SQL Endpoints
  • Build scalable Bronze, Silver, and Gold data layers using modern data engineering practices
  • Develop curated datasets and semantic models to support Power BI reporting
  • Integrate Microsoft Purview for metadata management, lineage, and data governance
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines, automation, monitoring, and operational support using Azure DevOps
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and reusable enterprise data solutions



About You

You're an experienced Data Engineer who enjoys building modern cloud data platforms and has strong experience across Microsoft's data ecosystem.

  • Demonstrated experience delivering enterprise data engineering solutions
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Azure, SQL, and PySpark
  • Experience building data pipelines, Lakehouses, and medallion architecture
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Purview, data governance, lineage, and metadata management
  • Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across technical and business teams
  • Must have full Australian working rights & be willing to meet hybrid requirements in Brisbane CBD.
