We are seeking two Data Engineers and one Business Analyst for a federal government data modernisation program. These roles will support new Power BI dashboards and the transition from an on-premises data warehouse to a cloud environment.

Data Engineer / Data Scientist (x2)
Key tasks:
- Build data models for Power BI dashboards
- Perform ETL and prepare datasets for reporting
- Develop technical documentation
- Set up Power BI workspaces and publish dashboards
- Design and implement visualisations
- Establish data quality checks and validation processes
- Support technical testing
- Review existing QLIK products and update code
- Assist the transition to cloud storage
Skills required:
- Strong SQL
- Power BI (DAX and/or M)
- Data modelling
- Experience with large datasets
- Clear communication for non-technical audiences
Business Analyst (x1)
Key tasks:
- Gather and document business requirements
- Develop technical specifications and business rules
- Create SOPs, user guides and source-to-target maps
- Define testing criteria and support UAT
- Lead stakeholder engagement and issue resolution
Skills required:
- Requirements gathering and documentation
- Stakeholder engagement
- Experience with data or reporting projects
Details
- APS6 equivalent
- Federal government contract
- Australian citizenship is mandatory
- 30-week engagement, with two optional 3-month extensions
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
- Canberra or Brisbane
- Hybrid work, minimum one day in office each week
- Must be able to obtain Baseline clearance
