We are seeking a Data Engineer and Platform Lead to join a high-performing data and insights team in the public sector. This is a fixed-term role for two years, with the potential for ongoing engagement based on performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and management of data pipelines and data platform architecture.
- Build and maintain complex data models across multi-layered lakehouse structures (Bronze, Silver, Gold).
- Support analytics and reporting using Microsoft Power BI and related tools.
- Ensure data governance, security, and compliance standards are upheld.
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (Dataflows, Pipelines, Lakehouses).
- Advanced SQL, DAX, Power Query, and ideally Python.
- Deep understanding of lakehouse architecture and multi-tier data modelling.
- Experience with Azure Data Factory, Power BI, and Synapse Analytics.
- Sound knowledge of data governance and security in a regulated environment.
