The Opportunity

This is an opportunity for a Business Data Analyst to join a large, complex environment supporting infrastructure operations, planning, and asset management services. You will play a key role in collecting, analysing, and presenting performance data that supports evidence-based decision making, internal and external reporting, and continuous improvement across a high-impact public sector environment.



About the Role

In this role, you will work closely with internal teams, stakeholders, and decision-makers to deliver reliable reporting, business intelligence solutions, and meaningful data insights.

  • Develop and maintain performance measurement systems that provide accurate, reliable, and relevant data.
  • Extract, analyse, and present complex data sets using contemporary BI and information management tools.
  • Create and maintain business intelligence solutions that make data more accessible and useful for stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice on departmental data sets, emerging trends, interpretation, and appropriate use of statistics.
  • Support briefing notes, executive correspondence, research, analysis, and business improvement activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve infrastructure, planning, and asset management services.


About You

You will be a confident data professional who can translate complex information into clear insights and practical reporting outcomes.

  • Strong experience in business data analysis, performance reporting, and data interpretation.
  • Ability to work with complex data sets and present insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience using business intelligence, reporting, or information management tools.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work across teams and support evidence-based decisions.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgement, and the ability to manage sensitive or complex information.
  • Qualifications in IT Service Management, open data, information management, or geospatial information would be highly regarded.
  • Must be willing to meet in office requirements in Brisbane CBD & to proceed as PAYG.
