Data Analyst

Information & Communication Technology

The Opportunity

This is a hands-on contract opportunity for a Data Analyst to support a major HR and Payroll transformation program at a critical stage of delivery. You will step into a fast-moving environment where testing, data migration, and production readiness are already underway, and the business needs someone who can bring structure, rigour, and execution across complex people and payroll data. The role suits someone who is not just technically strong in ETL and SQL, but who also understands the operational reality of HR/Payroll data, data quality risk, and the discipline required to get legacy and target systems aligned before go-live.

About the Role

In this role, you will take ownership of key data activities across the project lifecycle, helping ensure accurate, complete, and production-ready HR/Payroll data.

  • Lead data profiling, cleansing, validation, and remediation planning across legacy and target datasets
  • Support end-to-end ETL activities, including extraction, transformation, loading, optimisation, and troubleshooting
  • Develop and manage delta catch-up processes to keep source and target systems aligned before go-live
  • Define and implement data quality rules, KPIs, and governance controls across the HR/Payroll domain
  • Support testing, cutover, go-live, and post-implementation data readiness activities
  • Investigate and resolve data issues impacting reporting, system behaviour, and overall data quality

About You

You are a technically strong Data Analyst who understands that bad HR/Payroll data breaks projects, creates payroll risk, and drags out delivery. You know how to work across messy legacy environments, challenge poor data standards, and get things into shape without needing constant direction.

  • Proven experience in data analysis roles delivering end-to-end ETL and transition-to-BAU activities
  • Advanced SQL and hands-on SSIS capability across complex datasets and multi-system environments
  • Strong experience in data quality improvement, data governance, and master data management
  • Solid background working with HCM/Payroll platforms, with exposure to tools such as SAP, Kronos, Aurion, Workday, or Employee Central Payroll (Aurion & Workday preferred)
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced project environments with competing deadlines
  • Relevant qualifications in Data Analytics, Information Management, or a related discipline will be well regarded

The Benefits
This opportunity offers the chance to work on meaningful transformation work with immediate impact.

  • Initial 3-month contract in a large-scale enterprise transformation environment
  • Hybrid working model with 3 days onsite and 2 days from home
  • High-impact role across data migration, governance, testing, and go-live support
