We are seeking an experienced Cutover Manager
to lead the end‑to‑end cutover for a large‑scale transformation program within a complex financial services environment.
This is a build‑then‑migrate (re‑platforming)
program, transitioning from existing platforms and processes to a newly built target‑state solution. This is not a lift‑and‑shift migration. The role owns the overall program cutover, spanning technology, data, business, and operations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Program Director, the Cutover Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing all activities required to safely and successfully transition from current‑state systems and business processes to the target‑state platform.
You will work alongside Program and Project Managers, Delivery Leads, and vendors to orchestrate a highly controlled cutover across multiple streams, supported by detailed planning, rehearsal, and governance.
This role requires a cutover specialist
with proven experience delivering large, high‑risk migrations and leading execution under tight time and regulatory constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and deliver the end‑to‑end cutover strategy, approach, and execution plan
- Develop and maintain a large‑scale, detailed cutover run sheet(expected to exceed 5,000+ tasks)
- Coordinate inputs and dependencies across technology, data migration, business, operations, change, and vendors
- Define cutover scope, sequencing, critical paths, and entry / exit criteria
- Lead dress rehearsals, mock cutovers, and readiness assessments
- Identify and proactively manage cutover risks, issues, dependencies, and decision points
- Develop and manage contingency and rollback plans to ensure operational stability
- Run the cutover control centre / command centre through execution and hypercare
- Provide clear, structured updates to senior stakeholders and governance forums
- Manage post‑cutover and hypercare transition activities
Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience delivering large‑scale application migration and enterprise cutover programs
- Deep expertise in cutover planning and execution, including ownership of complex, highly detailed run sheets
- Experience in build‑then‑migrate (re‑platforming) or separation programs
- Strong understanding of end‑to‑end delivery lifecycles and dependency management across multiple workstreams
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including senior leadership reporting
- Ability to operate calmly and decisively in time‑critical, high‑pressure environments
- Strong working knowledge of Agile delivery environments
- 5–10 years’ experience in Project Management and/or Cutover Management roles
Desirable (but not mandatory)
- Experience in Wealth or Superannuation transformation programs
- Experience delivering separation or divestment programs
- Project Management certifications (e.g. PMP or equivalent)
What’s on Offer
- Key leadership role on a complex, high‑profile enterprise transformation
- Opportunity to own and lead the overall cutover, not just a single domain
- Work alongside a high‑calibre delivery team in a collaborative environment
- Competitive fixed term engagement with strong extension potential
